Lafayette Charter School provides nutritional, well-balanced lunches to our students and staff.  Morning and full day Preschool students are also invited to participate in our Food Program.  We strive to make meals that are not only healthy but tasty and visually appetizing.  Our menu is published monthly in area newspapers and weekly in the Lafayette Charter School Messenger.  The 2017-2018 price for a student meal is $2.55 and for an adult meal is $3.65.  Student breakfast is $1.55.

Lafayette Charter School participates in the National School Lunch Program. The State of Minnesota and the Federal government provide financial subsidies to our meal program on behalf of our students.  For Free or Reduced Meal benefits see the handbook.  Our Food Program is regulated by the State and Federal governments as well as by the Brown-Nicollet Community Health Services, which does 2 inspections of our facilities every year.  The regulatory agencies overseeing the National School Lunch Program provide monitoring audits regularly.

Starting in 2013, LCS is participating in the Farm to School program to help connect schools (K-12) and local farms with the objective of serving healthy meals.  Here is a story on the Farm to School program by KEYC.

In accordance with Federal civil rights law and U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) civil rights regulations and policies, the USDA, its Agencies, offices, and employees, and institutions participating in or administering USDA programs are prohibited from discriminating based on race, color, national origin, sex, disability, age, or reprisal or retaliation for prior civil rights activity in any program or activity conducted or funded by USDA.
Persons with disabilities who require alternative means of communication for program information (e.g. Braille, large print, audiotape, American Sign Language, etc.), should contact the Agency (State or local) where they applied for benefits. Individuals who are deaf, hard of hearing or have speech disabilities may contact USDA through the Federal Relay Service at (800) 877-8339. Additionally, program information may be made available in languages other than English.
To file a program complain of discrimination, complete the USDA Program Discrimination Complaint Form, (AD-3027) found online at http://www.ascr.usda.gov/complaint_filing_cust.html, and at any USDA office, or write a letter addressed to USDA and provide in the letter all of the information requested in the form. To request a copy of the complaint form, call (866) 632-9992. Submit your completed form or letter to USDA by:
